Caffeine and Headache

Caffeine acts as a stimulant by displacing adenosine in the brain. Notice the similarity of the words “caffeine” and “adenosine.” Adenosine — you may recall from high school biology — is involved in ATP (adenosine triphosphate) and energy cycling in cells.
